Picked from Brad’s uncle’s Mourvèdre block in Willunga, these are some of our favourite grapes to work with. Big juicy bunches bursting with beautiful colour and flavour. For our Light Red we destemmed and left on skins for a mere 4 days. Pressed in our hand cranked wooden press and left to barrel age in neutral oak for 9 months.
Aromatics: Bright, elegant, red fruits
Palate: Crunchy, fresh plums and strawberry
Fun fact: Our Light Red was a bit of a happy accident in the winery. Originally picked for our rosé, we couldn’t get it off skins fast enough with our old wooden press (our arms can only crank so quickly), so we decided to make a light red wine instead!
