2024 Camwell Wines Vermentino

Estate fruit, hand pruned, sustainably grown. 

Gently picked and pressed immediately to tank to retain freshness. Finished in barrel for 2 months to build subtle complexity.

Aromatics: Fresh, vibrant and citrus flower.

Palate: Lemon, crisp followed by the classic Vermentino saltyness.

 Only 700 bottles made. 

2024 Camwell Tea Tree Hill Vineyard Barrel Aged Vermentino

Estate-grown fruit, hand-pruned and sustainably cultivated.
Harvested by hand and pressed immediately into French oak.
Aged for over a year, with gentle lees stirring twice during maturation.

Only 350 bottles produced.

2024 Camwell Tea Tree Hill Vineyard Flor Aged Vermentino

Estate-grown fruit, hand-pruned and sustainably cultivated.
Harvested by hand and pressed immediately into French oak.

After three months in barrel, we went to top it up with fresh wine—a routine step to keep the wine vibrant throughout maturation. When we opened the bung, we noticed a thin white film on the surface.

At first, we panicked, assuming it was mould or some kind of spoilage. But after testing, we discovered it was actually the rare and remarkable flor yeast.

This wasn’t planned or expected for this Vermentino barrel—if anything, it was pure luck. We’d never encountered Vermentino aged under flor before, so we decided to let it develop and see where it would take the wine. The result is something genuinely special.

Intriguing, unconventional, and thought-provoking, this wine is almost unlike wine as we know it—but it’s undeniably a joy to experience.
